Jeffrey Burum Background Information
With the future of quality affordable housing at stake, Jeffrey Burum has become an advocate in California and the nation. By facilitating a number of different land development projects while enhancing the aesthetic quality of run-down landscapes, Mr. Burum and his work have benefitted thousands of families who have found high-quality, affordable places to live.
Jeffrey Burum started his career during the late 1980s and has been building successful projects ever since. Low income housing availability became his first priority, and in 1991 he founded Southern California Housing Development Corporation. Since then, the HDC has made a name for itself and continues to maintain its standard of excellence, providing long term community growth and prosperity for nearly all walks of life. Burum also created the National Housing Development Corporation in 1998, expanding his idea beyond California. The NHDC has been successful in providing employment and living opportunities for many different communities.
Jeff Burum also served on the Millennial Housing Commission at the request of the United States Congress. Selected as one of 22 real estate experts, he worked to address the nation’s concerns regarding the issue of affordable housing, saying that there wasn’t enough of it. Aware that economic stability depended upon a healthy real estate market, Burum used his expertise to assist the MHC by finding out what areas were more likely to suffer the most, and then implementing programs to ensure sustainability.
Mr. Burum is affiliated with a number of organizations, including Golden State Bank, AIG Sun America, National Community Renaissance, Diversified Pacific Development Group, Colonies Crossroads, The Vandalia Heritage Foundation, Hope Through Housing, and a list of other institutions as well. He resides in Rancho Cucamonga, where he has spent the last 20 years raising a family and getting involved with local community welfare projects. He also contributes time and money to local politicians who share the same core values and principles. His work can be seen at Citrus Grove in the city of Rialto, where Burum gave the entire complex a makeover, but also in Upland, California, where he constructed The Colonies at San Antonio. The Colonies consist of 1100 homes on over 400 acres of sustainable land.
